Our Ceremonial Uji Sayakami Matcha is made from the noble Okumidori cultivar and comes from traditional cultivation in one of Japan's most famous matcha regions. Uji has been known for centuries for its high tea quality and careful processing.
Through targeted shading of the tea plants before harvesting and particularly gentle processing, a fine matcha with an intense, natural green is created. In terms of taste, it convinces with a mild, balanced umami, a subtle natural sweetness, and a fresh, nutty, slightly floral aroma, completely without bitterness. Its harmonious profile makes it particularly pleasant both pure and with milk.
The grinding is traditionally done in granite stone mills, which creates an extremely fine powder. Small color nuances may occur due to natural fluctuations and storage processes of the Tencha before grinding.
